Second Diocesan Convention

Do not remember the former things or consider the things of old. I am about to do a new thing; now it springs forth; do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.
Isaiah 43:18-19 (NRSVUE)
Convention Theme
A Way in the Waters is this year’s convention’s theme – we gather amid some realized hopes and awareness that there is still work to do to live fully into the promise of juncture. We witness to our experience that God has been and remains our constant companion in this journey. We the people of the Episcopal Diocese of the Great Lakes have come together by choice. Like the confluence of many waters, we are strengthened by the bonds of affection we have deepened. As Jesus sent out the first disciples in pairs, we carry forward Christ’s mission and ministry together.
We are now called to gather for our second convention as the Episcopal Diocese of the Great Lakes: to celebrate the things we have accomplished in our first year together, to share in the joys, and take counsel on ways we can support one another and work together towards common goals. We hope this theme can become a part of your prayers for each other leading up to and during our convention, that God will show us the way to new things!
