The image reads: "The First Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of the Great Lakes." The word "Bishop" is in the same highly stylized, all-caps serif font that includes flourishes that are reminiscent of illustrations of waves - like waves on the Great Lakes - that is used in the diocese's wordmark. The rest of the text is in an italicized, all caps, sans serif font. The italicization and the shape of the more stylized text give the graphic a feeling of forward motion. Above the "IS" in "Bishop," the illustration of a mitre from our diocesan seal sits.

Bishop Candidate Meet and Greets

The Episcopal Diocese of the Great Lakes Bishop Transition Committee is delighted to announce details for our Meet and Greets with the slate of candidates for first bishop diocesan!

Meet and Greets are holy conversations to get to know candidates better and to get a sense of how the Holy Spirit is moving in our diocesan community.

Each session will last about 90 minutes and feature moderated questions selected by the Transition Committee based on community input. You are also invited and encouraged to submit questions in advance. Submitting your questions now will help us shape Meet and Greets and better understand the interests of our diocese. While we cannot promise that every question can be asked of the candidates, your input is valued and needed. Click the button below to submit a question by Monday, August 31.

Locations (listed below) have been carefully selected to ensure that, with the exception of our well beloved siblings on Beaver Island, every delegate has an in-person Meet and Greet opportunity within a 90-minute drive of the congregation they represent. There are also opportunities to join via Zoom and to watch live-streamed Meet and Greets, so that neither physical distance nor schedule will inhibit access to these gatherings and conversations. Unless otherwise indicated below, Meet and Greets are open to every member of The Episcopal Diocese of the Great Lakes.

Building capacity at some of our locations is limited, so please RSVP by Friday, September 18, 2026.

Come curious. Come prayerful. Come ready to imagine the future God is preparing for us.

We look forward to gathering with you.
