Second Diocesan Convention

The primary graphic of the image is a stylized illustration of water with three shades of blue squiggles that are grouped together to look like a lake with gently waving water. On the left side of the image is the shield of the diocese which features a two-sailed ship cutting boldly through the waves in front of a sky with white fluffy clouds and three stars, one of which is larger than the other two. The right side of the image features stylized text in the two darkest shades of blue from the water graphic. In all caps, in the lighter of the two shades, it reads "WAY." Weaving and waving out of that word in a darker blue with wave-like letter flourishes, the text reads "Waters." Finally, the bottom of the graphic reads, "A WAY IN THE WATERS" and "CONVENTION 2 - OCTOBER 24-25, 2025." The overall effect of the graphic is of both calm and movement, forward motion and peace.

Convention Locations

On-Site

Image Description: A photo of the brick sign outside of the convention location which reads "Horizons Conference Center." The photo was taken on a bright sunny day.

The majority of our second Diocesan Convention will be held at The Horizons Center, located at 6200 State Street in Saginaw Township.

A former K-Mart, exquisitely renovated for large-scale events with state-of-the-art technology, the Horizons Center facility offers ample free parking and total handicap accessibility throughout the building.

All workshops and plenary sessions will be held in this space, as well as the Friday evening keynote address and dinner and Saturday post-Eucharist lunch for registered Convention Attendees.

Our Convention Eucharist on Saturday will be held at First Presbyterian Church of Saginaw which was organized on March 1st, 1838, becoming the first church in the Saginaw Valley. Its present nave dates from 1885 and holds several hundred worshippers. More details about parking and accessibility will be made available in the second call to convention in September.

Online

Space at our on-site locations is limited and, for the convention business sessions, must prioritize convention delegates. However, our aim is to inclusively foster equity between online and on-site experiences, giving every member of our diocese access to the work and worship of our diocesan convention.

Plenary Sessions

All plenary sessions, including Presiding Bishop Sean’s keynote address, will be livestreamed on our YouTube Channel. Direct links to the streams and timing will be made available in the second call to convention in September.

Workshops

Workshops will not be livestreamed, however, workshop presenters will work with diocesan staff to make materials and video content available to our whole diocese to serve as ongoing resources.

Worship

Both our youth-led compline on Friday evening and our Eucharist on Saturday will be livestreamed on our YouTube Channel. Direct links to the streams and timing will be made available in the second call to convention in September.
