Our Stories

We could rattle off stats about our diocese (and we do, in other spaces on this site!). We could link you to the catechism, 20 or so pages of tiny print in the back of the Book of Common Prayer that are “An Outline of the Faith” for The Episcopal Church. But to really tell you who we are – we as a diocese, we as a community of believers, we as a community of humans, we as individuals wrestling with what it means to be people of faith in our times and places – we have to tell you our stories.

Prayer Vigil After An Unjust Arrest by ICE

After the unjust arrest of 18-year-old Ernesto, who was legally in the U.S. under Special Immigrant Juvenile status, Rev. Dr. Steven Pankey of Christ Episcopal Church in Bowling Green, KY, helped organize an emergency prayer vigil, drawing 100 community members in just over a day to call attention to ICE’s actions and advocate for justice. The vigil, coordinated with local pastors and civic leaders, emphasized Ernesto’s humanity, engaged the wider public through prayer, media outreach, and candle lighting, and sparked deeper reflection and activism within participating congregations.
