Being & Becoming: Staff & Structure Lessons

Nearly 50 lay and clergy leaders from around the diocese gave feedback on their experiences and expectations of diocesan staff in recent interviews conducted by Interim Executive Officer, the Rev. Alan James, and the Staffing and Structure Committee. Watch the video to learn about the takeaways from that work.

As we continue living into our shared life as one diocese, questions about how our staff best serves our congregations and ministries have been front and center. The Standing Committee empowered the Staffing and Structure Committee and our Interim Executive Officer, the Rev. Alan James, to understanding our staffing and make recommendations for improvement. They were intentional about listening to clergy and lay leaders across the diocese, gathering input about what’s working and where change is needed. In this video, Alan shares what we’ve learned from that review process. Tomorrow, he’ll dig in to the steps we’re taking to strengthen our diocesan staff structure and share our new org chart.

We invite you to watch, reflect, and stay tuned for new videos each day this week. And we’d love to hear your thoughts! Share your feedback with us in the comments or during the Diocesan Townhall on Tuesday, September 16, at 7 p.m.
