Dear Congregational Leaders, both Clergy and Lay:
We are inviting every congregation and chapel in our diocese to keep Sunday, October 26, 2025, the Sunday immediately after our second diocesan convention, as A Day of Prayer for Our Diocese and Our Episcopal Search. To that end, please find in the linked folder approved scripture readings for the day, notes on these readings, a sample sermon, suggested hymns, and collects.
The same readings will be used for the sermon at the Convention Eucharist. Clergy, lay leaders and convention delegates, in reporting on the convention that Sunday might include mention of some of the things said by our convention preacher. That Sunday’s preachers might incorporate an idea or a quote from the convention preacher in their sermons. Or, in an adult Christian Formation session parishes might play the convention sermon from our diocesan Facebook page. Our goal is to help “bring home” diocesan convention to our parishes as we pray for the search for our first bishop.
Joining you in prayer for our diocese and our search,
